Often known as SEO PR or link building, digital PR is a strategy that uses traditional PR practices to earn high quality backlinks to your website. Every healthy relationship is built on trust so it’s no surprise that Google needs to trust your website, before it can promote it. Earning a backlink from relevant, authoritative publications is telling Google that they endorse and trust you. The more links/endorsements your website gets, the more Google will trust your content. The more Google trusts your content, the higher it will rank your website in the search results. 
 
Digital PR strategy is heavily built around having relevant quality content to support your PR campaign. Earning links requires creating valuable content (linkable assets) that journalists and publishers will want to link to. A piece of content that’s unique, relevant and useful is more likely to secure links and social shares, than just sending out press releases. 
 
​As a digital marketing consultant, one of my main KPIs is always about driving traffic.
